And then there is the other big company that I founded myself recently with a few other people

and that is MyMicroZoo, which is a company that allows you to test your own gut bacteria so you get an idea of what you have in you and how that correlates to your health and your wellbeing.

At this stage, going for the one job for the probiotics and on the other hand going for the choice of a somewhat more secure position, you know. On the one hand being a consultant and handling your own pay and having to do everything yourself or go to work for a salary in that company. So, I spoke to somebody that I really trusted in this and I said, you know, “If you would be in this position, what would you do?” And, then he said “You know, what you have is you have a certain skill set that is quite rare. You know about the microbiota, of course, but you also know about patents, you know about business. There’s a lot of combinations that you can work in.” He said “This is a growing field. So, I’m not going to give you any advice about what to do. But, this is what I’m telling you.” So, basically you do your own thing and do not go for that company thing was the message.

My wife wasn’t too happy about that because, you know, she was looking at the security thing and I was looking at the freedom to operate kind of position. And I think this is the, if you want to call it like that; the take home message is if you really feel for something. For me the microbiota stuff is something that that’s been bugging me for many years. If you really have something in mind you really want to do, just pursue it and just go for it. Don’t be scared to do it. It’s easy enough to fall flat on your face but just get up and try again. And eventually, with a lot of with a lot of work, you should be able to get there.

But, let’s not forget it is a lot of work. It’s not something, if you think he’s going to be nice and cushy because now you’ve got this thing going. No, you’ve got to keep working at it – there’s going to be is going to be plenty of work. But if that’s all it is, that’s fine with me. Even if you’ve got a good idea, don’t ever think nobody else in the world has this idea. So, don’t let that hold you back in trying anyway. The other one might be miles ahead but still that doesn’t mean you can’t do it either and that you can still make a good business out of it. So, just try. And, maybe you can still go back to another position but then you have then you have a bag of experience.
